In case you're not like my college BFF Melita, who had all her holiday gifts bought and wrapped by Thanksgiving Day, here are a few of my favorite things to give our gal pals this holiday season. And they're all from/feature women here in Austin!

Hi Ann, I surprised to see my name here. We went shopping this weekend for fun! And, enjoyed browsing, people watching, & finding stuff we didn't know we needed & one item we've been looking for! Harry & David's carries Cinnamon Maple Syrup & we had it Sunday on pancakes. Yes, you could sprinkle cinnamon but it's not the same! I got the last Monet weekly planner/calendar which is a sign that I need to focus on my Monet needlepoint in 2011 & that's my mantra for 2011 - FOCUS, recommit to deliverables. I'm glad I saved your 8/11/09 email. And, that's why I came to your website tonight. To declare my intentions to FOCUS! And, to thank my BFF, Ann, for your wonderful insights & encouragement. You've got to watch what you share online--it's fair game for bloggers needing good ideas! Well, you know I heartily endorse FOCUS. I still pull out my mantra: "One thing at a time." Been using that one a lot during the holiday season. Monet! One of my life's best experiences was visiting Giverny. I have a tiny little paper version of the house (alas, not the gardens) here in my studio. Hugs and best wishes!
